About us

We are the hub for people working with bereaved children and young people across the UK.

Every 22 minutes, a parent dies, leaving dependent children. Many more young people are bereaved of someone close – a brother, sister, grandparent or friend.

Our members work directly with these children and young people when someone has died, or is going to die. Sometimes they support children 1:1, sometimes they work with the whole family, sometimes they help children connect with others who’ve been bereaved.

We underpin the work of these wonderful services with support and representation. We campaign for better care for children and their families. We keep our members up to date with what’s going on affecting the families they support, help them find the research they need to develop their work, and support them to reach out to even more families.

Together, we want all children to get information, guidance and support to manage the impact of death on their lives.
